Acid Attack Protest – The Scarf Movement in Basantapur

It has well been over few week since the acid attack took place in Jhochhen, Kathmandu but the culprit behind the crime has still not been found yet. A Scarf Movement – a protest against the acid attack was held in Basantapur this morning by Shail Suman Silwal and team.

The event which saw strong presence of students and various organizations also had an acid attack survivor Bindabasini Kansakar in attendance. Banker Anil Keshari Shah described Kansakar as “Beauty with Bravery”.  A rights group visited PM Sushil Koirala on Thursday last week and they raised the question regarding safety of women in Nepal and urged the government to act quickly on the recent acid attack and rape of a minor.
