A number of imports of private vehicles in Kathmandu are increasing every year; the roads are being widened yet with the increase in the vehicles being acquired, there isn’t really a big difference. Alongside, the traffic jam and the hectic roads that we face every day. People get stuck in the crossovers for hours which leads to loss of their productive times.
Hence, in order to reduce the traffic jam resulted by the use of large number of private vehicles, Nepal is to import large electric public buses from China. The buses will be imported as a grant from China. The incoming of these buses will not only reduce the number of private vehicles on the road but also will be environment-friendly.
These buses will help reduce the consumption of petroleum products which is one of the major sources of air pollution. As we all know that air pollution is a major issue in the present context within the Kathmandu Valley. Also, these buses will not be affected by the fluctuation in the price of petroleum products and with the frequent shortage of petroleums in Kathmandu.
So, the use of these pollution-free buses is a step towards the establishment of pollution-free Kathmandu which once allured the Late King Prithvi Narayan Shah to conquer this beautiful Valley.
