Nepal’s cricket calendar now has another international event to look forward to. The ICC has announced the schedule for the 2027 Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup, co-hosted by Nepal and Bangladesh. The tournament begins on January 21, with Nepal’s opening match against Ireland scheduled for the following day.

Nepal’s group is confirmed

The ICC’s October 21 announcement places Nepal in Group A with India, Ireland and the West Indies. Sixteen teams are divided into four groups, with 41 matches planned across four venues in the two host countries.

The listed Nepal venues are TU International Cricket Stadium and Upper Mulpani International Cricket Ground. The announcement distinguishes the overall tournament opening from Nepal’s first game, an important detail when putting dates into a calendar.

A different generation to follow

An age-group World Cup offers a particular kind of sporting interest. The appeal is not only the result; it is the chance to notice players early and follow how their games develop. For young fans, it can also make international women’s cricket feel closer and more tangible.

That is an opportunity for coverage as well as spectatorship. Player profiles, properly checked scorecards and explanations of a team’s approach can give the competition depth beyond a single headline about hosting.

What to watch for next

The ICC says the group stage runs through January 26, followed by the Super Six phase. The semi-finals are scheduled for February 4 and the final for February 6 in Bangladesh, with reserve days specified in the official announcement.

Before arranging a match visit, check the ICC and local organisers for the fixture-specific venue, start time and admission information. The schedule announcement is not a ticket offer, and this article does not establish ticket availability or pricing.

For now, there is a clear sporting invitation: make room for Nepal’s young women in the cricket conversation. Hosting matters most when attention continues from the announcement to the players and the matches themselves.
