Two names on a tournament draw can change the way a country sees a sport. For Nepal’s mobile-gaming supporters, those names are Hora Esports and T2K. Both earned places in the PUBG Mobile Global Open, and the draw gave their fans an intriguing complication: the two Nepali sides landed in the same group.

A Kathmandu qualifier with an international destination

Onlinekhabar reported on October 6, 2026 that Hora and T2K had been placed in Group A for the competition planned in Pakistan from October 20. Both progressed through the South Asia Finals in Kathmandu, where T2K finished second and Hora third. Pakistan’s Four Thrives won that qualifying event.

Those results offer a useful starting point for newcomers. The teams reached this stage through a regional competition; they did not simply put Nepal’s name on a registration form. Kathmandu also appears in the story as a host city where that qualification was decided.

The October draw is a dated snapshot, not a prediction of the tournament’s outcome. For match times and any changes, supporters should check the organiser’s live channels. A qualification story deserves celebration without an invented victory attached to it.

Why this competition matters beyond one draw

Inven Global’s February report on the publisher’s 2026 roadmap described two Global Open events, with Indonesia hosting the first season’s main event and Pakistan the second. Each was announced with a US$500,000 prize pool. The structure connects regional entry routes with international competition, giving this Nepal story a larger setting.

That is the interesting shift for an audience used to associating national sporting pride with a cricket ground or a running track. Here, the arena is a mobile game. Following the story means learning a new competitive language: qualification, squads, group draws and the difference between reaching a major event and winning it.

For a first-time viewer, start with the two Nepali teams and follow their progress through the organiser’s coverage. Look at the decisions and teamwork rather than treating every elimination as a national verdict. There is room to be a curious supporter before becoming an expert.

Hora and T2K have already supplied the beginning of a compelling story: a route through Kathmandu to a bigger stage. What happens there should be allowed to unfold on its own terms.
