From a Finnish popstar, American cosplay celebrity, Hollywood actors Ralph Fiennes and Josh Brolin to Sunny Leone, it seemed like 2014 was the unofficial Visit Nepal year!! Here are some bollywood celebrities who recently visited Nepal.
1. Shah Rukh Khan
The King Khan visited Nepal in March 2015 on a private jet to promote Kansai Paints Nepal ‘U-CAN’ initiative at HYATT REGENCY. The Happy New Year actor arrived Fans went crazy when they spotted Shah Rukh in their city and social sites were flooded with posts, pics and tweets about the actor.
2. Aamir Khan
Mr. Perfectionist also visited Nepal last year in October to participate in a UNICEF-initiated nutrition program. He stayed in Nepal for three days in Dwarika’s Hotel and spent an hour at Pakadi Health Post in Kapilvastu. He also visited in Lord Buddha’s birthplace Lumbini. Aamir’s visit to Nepal was kept low-profile because of the security issues. Aamir had brought six personal security guards with him and Nepal police personnel were also deployed for his additional security.
3. Akshay Kumar
Akshay visited Nepal in April last year for a week to shoot for his upcoming film ‘Baby’. He shot some action sequences in Thamel. There were so much commotion and security around the area. People flocked the corners of Thamel surrounding Mandala Street desperate to see this celebrity. Whilst police joked that the president had arrived, some wondered if the Bollywood star Akshay Kumar would come out and wave to those waiting nearby. That he did. “We Want Akshay” was heard loud and clear. The actor appeared once again and joined his hands together and bowed his head, Namaste.
4. Arshad Warsi
Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi visited Nepal in April last year to shoot for a film. He spent around two weeks in the country and visited Pokhara and Annapurna range. He stayed at the Radisson Hotel in Kathmandu. After he went back to India, he tweeted “Hello everyone, I am back from the mountains of Nepal. Had a fabulous experience. Will post pics soon…. Cheers” on April 15.
5. Sushmita Sen
It wasn’t the first time that Sushmita Sen visited Nepal. Last time she was in Kathmandu to participate in a fashion show. Her recent visit to Nepal was in November for Classical Diamond Jewelers Fashion show where she was the showstopper for the show. Invited by Classic Diamond Jewellery, she participated in a two-days-long jewellery pageant and inaugurated the outlet of the jewellery in New Road. She also visited Pashupatinath temple in Ktm.
6. Raveena Tandon
Raveena Tandon visited Nepal just a week before Sushmita Sen. participate in a Jewelry Fashion show by Nepal Gem and Jewelry Association.
7. Neha Dhupia
Neha landed to Kathmandu last year in August to host the 2nd BrandFest Nepal organized by The Himalayan Times Perspectives which took place at the HYATT REGENCY on Aug 8. The actress also managed to squeeze a bit of sightseeing as she shared photos of her time at Pashupatinath and Everest Experience flight with Yeti Airlines. She finished off by sharing an instagram photo with words expressing the beauty of Nepal.
8. Sunny Leone
The former pornstar, Sunny Leone, also visited the capital city, Kathmandu with her husband Daniel Weber. She was invited again to celebrate the Nepali New Year.
