We all are avid pizza lovers who literally jump up at the mention of a pizza. Big round base, soft inner and hard outer crust with a truckload of gooey cheese and another truckload of meat, veggies, mushrooms, and toppings of all kinds to satisfy my occasional cravings and more than fulfilling my calorie requirements is what I call a pizza.
The ones we bake at home, the ones found in restaurants and in fast food joints around Nepal are all round in shape. And to be honest, we are dying to try new varieties of pizzas any day any time cause admit it or not: Pizza is Life.
The thing with us pizza lovers is that we just can’t get enough slices to satisfy our infinite hunger for this merciful invention of the Italians. Then again, the next thing with us is that we just don’t have enough money to buy it all the time. So what do we do?
Simple: We bake. We eat.
It is pretty evident that the majority of us have been guilty of failing miserably at trying to recreate the perfect round pizza at some point in our lives. But do we really need the perfect pizza when we can get all the funky ones with just a little bit of time and work, that too in the comfort of our own home?
Check out these amazing ways to up your home-bake pizza game to treat yourself, because well, you just deserve it!
Pizza Cone:
A modern and portable take on the traditional pie shaped pizza, these cones are easy to bake and take rarely 10 minutes of your time before you are gobbling them down in numbers.
How to:
- Find some craft/chart paper and shape it into a cone.
- Bring out aluminum foil from your kitchen and wrap it around the pre-made cone until a solid hollow cone is made out of the foil.
- Roll out pizza dough into a sheet and wrap it over the aluminum cone to give it a cone-shape
- Remove the paper from within and place the cone (with the aluminum cone) into the oven for 5-6 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove the aluminum foil and let the cone simmer down.
- Fill the hollow pizza crust with sauce, meat, pepperoni, salami, veggies, a handful of grated cheese and all other magical ingredients according to your taste.
- Slide the filled pizza cone back into the oven and bake until the cheese starts to bubble.
- Sprinkle with oregano (optional).
- Serve hot while the cheese can still melt in your mouth.
Pizza Cups:
Cute little cupcake shaped versions of the classic pizza, only with a little less hassle while stuffing them into your mouth like the pizza beast that you are. Also, you can stuff an entire cup filled with the same goodness of cheese and sauce in one single bite. How adventurous!
How to:
- Roll dough into a sheet and cut into triangles according to the size of your muffin tin holes.
- Spray muffin tin with cooking oil or paint with butter.
- Place the triangle dough sheets into the holes of your tin and press them down.
- Mix all ingredients such as sauce, pepperoni, sausage, veggies, cheese or any other ingredients according to taste in a bowl.
- Spoon about 2-tablespoon of the mixture into each dough-lined cup.
- Sprinkle each cup with a teaspoon of additional grated cheese.
- Slide into the oven and bake for 16-18 minutes until light brown.
- Remove from cups while hot and serve immediately.
Pizza sandwich:
The easiest recipe on the list, and the only one that does not require the use of an oven, pizza sandwich is an easy-to-go snack for anybody at any time of the day as it doesn’t even take 5 minutes to get this ready. It basically requires the same effort as making an average sandwich, but tastes indefinitely better, because of course: Pizza!
How to:
- Butter the outsides of two slices of bread and lay one on the pan, butter side down.
- Spread pizza sauce, then cheese and pepperoni/ sausage/ mushroom on the bread.
- Top with some more pizza sauce and place the other bread on it, butter side up.
- Cook until both sides are golden brown and the cheese melts.
- Cut in half and serve hot at breakfast, or lunch, or dinner. In other words, serve any time.
