Art of Speaking Championship–MIC for Youths

Huawei Presents ‘Art of Speaking Championship’ in association with Khalti-digital wallet organized by MIC for Youths was held on 16th June 2018 and 28th June 2018. The event was focused on enhancing and evaluating the youth networking, public speaking, presentation skills, communication skills, business ethics, poetry and leadership skills, eliminate the fear of mass, nurture ideas and provide motivation to aspiring youth.

A competition was held among 20 selective participants out of which 3 were announced the winner.

The program was initiated by the Founder & CEO Mr. Shivam Agrawal and Spoken word poet, Ms. Shikha Nepal, of MIC for Youths. Mr. Shivam Agrawal is also one of the trainers for MIC for Youths. He is a motivational speaker and a leadership coach, and also the founder of JPT group. He has trained more than 2000 youths. He is also the CEO at Innovative Nations. He has attended various business camps, boot camps, leadership camps, conferences and worked as a volunteer as well. He believes that motivating an individual is not enough unless he/ she utilizes the motivation to do something productive.

The first day of the event was held on June 16 which was broken down into introduction session, team formation, and discussion. Five teams were formed with four members each. Each team was associated with a company which included JPT Nights, UG Bazar, Khalti, Foodmario, and Huawei. The teams made a paper presentation on the respected companies.

The second day of the event was more directed towards competition between the teams. The teams made a presentation about the respective companies in front of the panel of judges. The judges were Mr. Shivam Agrawal and Mr. Yash Agrawal from JPT Nights, Ms. Nikita Acharya and Ms. Kiran Timilsina from UG Bazar, Mr. Anmol Agrawal and Mr. Ashim Shrestha from Khalti, Mr. Rohit Tiwari from Foodmario, and Mr. Roshan and Mr. Pulkit Bhimsaria from Huawei.

The participants presented in teams but they were judged individually and out of the twenty participants, ten participants were selected for the second round. The second round was a two minutes impromptu speech session in which each participant had to give a speech on a topic provided by the judges on the spot. Top five participants were selected and were made to give a speech on a self-selected topic for the maximum of five minutes. The winners were then selected based on their speaking ability, confidence and the choice of topic.

The winner is Stella Mainali who won a Huawei mobile phone, the 1st runner-up is Saurabh Tiwari who won a Power Bank and an earphone, and the 2nd runner-up is Bishal Bhattarai who won Power bank.

The final day of the event i.e. the 2nd day of the event, fortunately, fell on the 1st anniversary of MIC for Youths. So, there was a celebration of the day with a cake brought by UG Cake.
