When it comes to internationally famous Nepali people, the first name that pops up in most of our minds is that of Fashion Designer Prabal Gurung. He is a Nepali origin world-famous designer based in New York City and owns the label named Prabal Gurung, which is popular among celebrities. His talent and unique style of designing have been turning heads every season and has given him the honor to create designs for some of the most powerful women names like Michelle Obama, Priyanka Chopra, Kate Middleton, Ashley Graham and an endless list of women ruling the world in their respective fields. Instead of being just a famous designer, Prabal Gurung has been a philanthropic and public conscience figure, who turns heads towards the raging issues related to empowerment issues such as sexism, race, white favoritism and prejudice. Recently, his Spring 2019 collection runway was seen laded in Tibetan prayer flags, thanks to this man who carries Nepal within his heart and work throughout his journey to the top.
Shesh Ghale
The next name on the list is that of Shesh Ghale, the founder and CEO of Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia. Originally, from Lamjung of Nepal, he along with his wife Jamuna Gurung established MIT Australia in 1996. He is the former president of the Non-Resident Nepalese Association and has a net worth of $876 million along with his wife Jamuna as of 2018. In 2018, he was listed on the BRW 200 list of Australia as the 81st richest person and is currently the second richest man in Nepal. He is a businessman who contributes largely to the society and is helping to build shelters for the 2015 Nepal earthquake victims with his wife.
Manisha Koirala
One of the most celebrated actresses in the Bollywood scene, Manisha Koirala has shown her acting prowess in the big screen of various Hindi movies. She has also performed in South Indian and Nepali movies but is most recognized for the acting in Hindi movies. Awarded with four film fare awards in her career, she is among the best performing artists in India. Belonging to a family of political background, Koirala has maintained her distance from the political scene and instead focused on social works such as working for relief funds for the earthquake victims. She recovered from a long battle with ovarian cancer in 2015 and served as the Goodwill Ambassador of United Nations Population Fund.
Upendra Mahato
Upendra Mahato is a business tycoon based in Russia, who started his journey towards success from the rural settlement of Siraha, Janakpur. He is the president of the Russia-Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Honorary Consul General of Nepal in the Republic of Belarus. Upendra Mahato is the first billionaire of Nepal and has a greater drive to give back to the society than any other. He believes one does not have to have much to give to the society and is aiming at bringing an economic revolution in Nepal.

The trend of making the career as a Youtuber is increasing and Promise is the most popular Nepali You Tuber based internationally. A Los Angeles and California based make-up artist and you tuber, Promise Tamang has been able to gather huge following with her talented use of make-up to transform into any celebrity of her choice. She currently has 5.3 M subscribers on YouTube channel dope2111 and 1.2 M on her channel Promise Phan and has a net worth of over $10 million. She is considered a beauty guru and has been featured on TV shows like ABC’s Good Morning America.
