A 19-year-old Nepalese teenager Raja Thapa set an unbelievable world record by cramming 138 pencils into his mouth to beat the previous claim by an Indian man named Dinesh Shivnath Upadhyaya.
Dinesh had managed to squeeze 92 into his mouth in one sitting.
Raja, unwilling to rest on his laurels after smashing the record by 46, refused to stop there however. He later followed up the stunt by stuffing 32 lit candles between his teeth.
“I loved weird things. I saw some quirky records being broken in Nepal, so I wanted to do the same. I realised that I could stuff things into my mouth and that is how it all began. I love to entertain people and what’s wrong with these stunts? After watching some quirky records, I felt motivated to go the same way.”
Thapa, who works as security guard, now plans to do regular street shows and attempt to break more quirky world records.
‘I want to be called the street hero of Nepal.’
