Arun Rivers is one of the Sapta Kosi river estuaries that streams into the eastern part of Nepal. another than being the world’s holiest nation with its myths and enigmatic nature, Nepal has 8 world’s highest mountain including majorities of highest altitude glacier lakes and rivers.

Arun River Importance For Nepal-China
The Arun is Nepal ‘s largest trans-Himalayan river, which also has the highest snow which ice-covered area of any Nepalese river basin. The Arun drains over half of the area that contributes to the Sapta Kosi river network but only provides about one quarter of the overall discharge.
This obvious paradox is attributed to the presence of over 80 percent of the Arun’s drainage area in the Himalayan rain shadow. The Tibetan name Bum-chu may refer to a religious ritual seeking to see spiritual prospects from the water level in a pot or well for the coming year, chu is the Tibetan word for the water.
