American Giant Company, Apple Inc. has made a flying start in the domestic market of Nepal with their new release of iPhone and they have an authorized distributors of Apple in Nepal.
Generation Next Communications (Genxt) was appointed as the authorized distributor of Nepal in November 2014 and they have started to sell iPhone from December 19, 2014 onward. Genxt said that 1800 iPhones had already been delivered with 400 iPhone are on order and they will be delivered within a week.
Genxt currently offers the iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6 and iPhone 5S models with different storage capabilities. The company is planning to roll out the iPhone 4S in the near future.
Genxt Managing Director Pawan Kumar Bhimsaria said that iPhones had captured the imagination of cell phone users in Nepal and that they had received bookings for 4,500 units of the iPhone 6 and around 500 units of the iPhone 4S.
Even Genxt is the authorized distributor of Apple, Apple phones are being sold from Evo Store, Future World (who were only authorized reseller ) and even Ncell has also started selling iPhones with service bundling.
Genxt said on Monday with The Kathmandu Post, that they are all set to introduce the iPad by January-end (2015). According to Bhimsaria, a total of 22 different models of iPads will be launched. The entry level iPad device, the iPad Mini (Wi-Fi), will be introduced with 16 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB storage capacities and they will be priced between Rs 55,000 and Rs 82,000. The iPad Air (Wi-Fi) which will be available in 16 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB storage capacities will cost in the range of Rs 72,000 to Rs 110,000.
